Water Quality: Swimming Area
A volunteer in our community collects water samples periodically and has them tested for E. coli by Oakland County Health Division. He tests 3 areas within the roped swimming area, between the docks & middle rope.
The average reading level of E. coli should be below 300 CFU/100mL for safe swimming.
In the event of a high E. coli reading, the Oakland County Health Department will shut down our beach temporarily, and re-test until water levels return to normal.
