Water Quality: Swimming Area
Water samples are periodically tested by Oakland County Health Division by a neighborhood volunteer. Each time, three areas are sampled within the roped swimming area between the docks & rope.
The average reading level of E. coli across these 3 sampled locations should be below 300 CFU/100mL for safe swimming.
In the event of high bacteria reading, the Oakland County Health Department will shut down our beach temporarily. OCHD representatives will come to re-test the water themselves, and will re-open the swimming area when test levels return to normal. PLEBA will alert members via email ASAP if we hear that this happens.
Summer Water Quality Test Results:
- June 17, 2025: average E. coli reading = 57.8. Safe for swimming.
